  苔丝英文读后感

  篇一苔丝英文读后感

She as seduced by a so-called gentleman—Alec, and from then on her life totally changed from this loss of innocence. People looked don on her and respected her no more. Actually she did nothing rong because before she as seduced she kne nothing of men. She as just a girl hen she first met that terrible man.

She as forced by the gossips and the church to blame herself for this aident, so she thought she deserved nothing good. In order to get rid of the past she decided to go to a distant dairy farm but as still saying to herself that she as rong. Maybe God didn’t agree ith that, because the Lord gave her someone she loved ith her hole heart and life—Angel Chare. Angel popped the question to her but she refused him ithout saying hy. She said she loved him deeply and perhaps no one in the orld could love him more than she did but she could not marry him for some unspoken reason. Angel asn’t satisfied ith this vague anser and did his best to in Tess. Someho she agreed and they soon fixed the edding day. Soon after their edding Angel confessed the crime he mitted to a oman long time ago and asked for Tess’s fiveness. Tess as not at all angry and fave Angel at once; in fact she as rather happy and excited for she also had things to confess.

She sat and told everything to Angel, hoping he ould five her as he as fiven but she as rong. She as not fiven, not as she thought she as. The oman pays.

Without Angel’s love, nothing meant anything to her. The result asn’t important no. Tess as arrested for her murder of that so-called gentleman. Why? She still loved Angel and hen he finally ent back to her and asked for HER fiveness, after he regretted hat he had done unfair to Tess, she as desperate. That as too late—Alec had alays told Tess that Angel ould never e back so he on Tess’s trust. Unluckily Angel did e back and found Tess.! Everything as too late!

Tess as deceived and she lost Angel for the second time! The strengh of her love as so strong that she had fotten the difference beteen right and rong. Before that she had done nothing rong but hen she killed Alec, everything really changed! She became a criminal! Ho could it be? She as as pure and innocent as the good ife in the Bible. Her hole character as honest and faithful. Angel figured out at last that a person should be judged not only on hat he has done but also on hat he anted to do!

Tess didn’t ant to be seduced by man and she had no poer to defend herself so she lost her innocence and that’s all! Angel also did the rong thing and it as even more serious than Tess’s crime but HE as not blamed for it. Why it is alays the oman ho pays? Why they are alays hurt? Why as Tess’s girlish purity lost? Why does the rong man take the rong oman? Why do the bad often ruin the good? Why is beauty damaged by ugliness? Women are too eak! Thousands of years of history have shon us that omen have alays been treated unfairly!

In old China there as a culture, hich didn’t think of omen as human beings. If you asked one if he as the oldest in his family, he ould probably anser “the oldest one” even if he had some elder sisters. If you asked hy then he ould say, “Ha, they are not included!”

People gave birth to many girls in order to have only one boy to keep the family name going. They thought girls had no use for the family. They ould be married and go to live ith their husbands’ home and be their ives some day sooner or later. So they ere extremely hard on girls.

Girls should be hard orking, faithful, loyal, intelligent, and virtuous and the most important thing as she must be a maiden! If her husband as the first man ho touched her then she as a good girl, a good ife no matter ho she thought. If she asn’t, then she ould gain a very bad reputation and nobody ould dare to go near her. What about men? People did not care hether he as an experienced man or not, nor did they care about his character. They thought man equals poer and poer equals rights…

No let’s not be so bitter. Noadays omen’s situations have bee much better. Some are because of the change of society and some are because of civilization. Just let those poor painful omen like TESS be just a memory.

  篇二苔丝英文读后感

When I read the novel Tess of the D’Urbervilles ten years ago for the first time, I as merely shocked by Tess’s miserable and tragic fate. What a lovely and kind girl! She did nothing rong but she had to bear all these adversities that she didn’t deserve. At that time I as just a naive little girl in junior high school.

No revieing this famous novel again, I realize that there is still much to be found and thought about in it. Great as Hardy is, he definitely anted to tell readers more than a tragic story purely.

Tess as the eldest daughter of her family and she had no choice but to bear the responsibility of rallying her family and repaying the debts. She as beautiful, innocent and pure ithout big ambition or desire for things that didn’t belong to her. Nobody ever doubted that she deserved happiness and peace.

But things seldom go on as e expected. Tess as deprived of virginity and she as no longer ‘pure’ as she used to be. What’s orse, she got pregnant as a result. Tess gave birth to the baby and decided to raise the baby all by herself. At that time, she shoed her admirable qualities—being tough and decisive. We all hope that she can start a brand ne life and cut off all contact ith the past after her baby’s death. Hoever, for the second and third time, God cheated and mocked her.

Sometimes I onder hy a nice oman couldn’t end up ith a nice man. Is it just like the saying that beautiful omen suffer unhappy fates? (.fsir.)Tess alays missed her Mr. right and her Mr.rong alays disturbed her life and ouldn’t let her go. All the three person misunderstand hat’s love. Alec thought love to be deprival and oupation; Angel thought love to be purity and ideal; Tess thought love to be toleration and aiting. They stuck in their illusion of love of hich they never managed to get out. Alec and Tess as dead. As for Angel, he might as ell be dead.

Who is to blame for this tragedy? Alec, Tess or Angel? Or ridiculous fate? I believe it as Tess herself. Certainly, that bad age and those hypocritical men ere executioners that push Tess into the abyss of destruction. But Tess should have led a better life if she don’t treat herself as a satellite of men. Ho stupid is she to spend her life aiting for a man ho betrayed her and escaped aay hen she as dying for help! When there is no help offered by men, omen should fight on their on instead of aiting for men’s mercy and fiveness since there is nothing needed to be fiven.

Women’s tragedy ill never e to an end until they treat themselves as totally independent, hich means they can lead a normal life ith or ithout men.
